The Climb: how hard can it be?

The Climb: NYTimes Robert Mackey blogs his way to, through and from L‘étape du tour, stage 10 of the Tour de France from Pau to Hautacam in a race open to all. About 8000 amateur cyclist participated in the race cycling 156km up passing le col du tourmalet at around 7000 ft. The NYTimes has also published an interactive map & coverage of the race.
