This one was clever. Like a puzzle you and the protagonist are trying to solve. Edgy with slow paced, still photography-like cinematography. I loved it. Makes me reall want to see Heneke’s latest, Funny Games.

Dave, I remember quite well you mentioning it to me awhile back, when you and JF saw it. That’s whay made me pick it up—talk about lasting impressions ;). I should add: after watching it, do go read this thread on imdb.
might help explain a few things.
This is one of my favourite films, so good call. Besides the main plot, which is interesting in itself, this film is also compelling in that it is a commentary on race relations in France as well as on our voyeuristic society.
PS. Aparently ‘Funny Games’ is really bad so you may want to skip it. Hope to see you soon
